GROUNDED was born during a 10-month journey around the world with our kids. As we traveled, we took time to pause, learn, and rethink different aspects of our lives, especially our environmental impact.

We discovered that 25% of all greenhouse gas emissions come from the food we eat. That realization quickly led us to a clear conclusion: changing our eating habits can have a major impact on the future of our planet, while also benefiting our health.

But as we moved toward a plant-based diet, we often struggled to find simple, tasty, and easy-to-cook plant-based proteins. That’s why we created GROUNDED—to make plant-based eating more accessible, flavorful, and effortless.

We believe this will help us achieve our mission: to make plant-based eating more mainstream and collectively reduce the carbon footprint of our food choices.

Among other things, we learned that 25% of greenhouse gases produced by humans come from our food system and therefore quickly came to the conclusion that transforming our eating habits can have a significant impact on the future of our planet and at the same time improve our health.

In our process of transitioning to a plant-based diet, we found it difficult at times to find plant-based protein sources that were easy to cook and tasted good.

With GROUNDED, we want to facilitate the integration of a plant-based diet, by offering products that are accessible, delicious and quick to cook. We believe that this will help us achieve our mission of democratizing plant-based diets, in order to collectively reduce our carbon footprint linked to our diet.
